Can the products be washed in the dishwasher?
Never wash wood in the dishwasher. Dishwashers work with heat and enzymes, which will break down wood over time and may cause cracks.
How should I clean my products?
Rinse after use with water. Wood is naturally antibacterial, so rinsing is generally enough. Optionally, you can use a little bit of dish soap. Avoid heavy scrubbing. Always wipe the wood dry after washing.
Can I soak the products in water?
Soaking wood is generally not recommended. If the wood soaks up a lot of water, it may crack. Soaking is also not necessary. Simply rinse with water.
How can I extend the life of my products?
You can optionally use beeswax every few months to help seal the surface of the wood and protect it from regular use.
What materials are the products made of?
Our kitchenware is made almost exclusively of wood. Indonesian Rosewood, Teakwood and Sapodilla Wood. All wood we use is sustainably sourced.
Can I use wood kitchenware in an oven or microwave?
Don't do this. A microwave will probably cause the wood to crack, because it will quickly bring small pockets of moisture inside the wood to boil and pressure from this internal steam will damage the wood. Don't put them in an oven either.
What kind of finishing/coating does Vivere use?
The only finishing we use is 100% beeswax.

It's smaller than my typical wooden spoons, but I use it more often than expected. Perfect for stirring or serving from small saucepans or pots of rice or veggies. it looks and feels lovely.

Excellent Skimmer
The Bagong is an excelent skimmer. I switched from plastic to this wooden one for enviromental reasons. The color and design are beautiful, and it's reasonably priced. I've used it in my crockpot to scoop veggies, leaving some liquid behind, and to skim fat from soups. Its a very handy tool.
